What Tap Dungeon actually is

Tap Dungeon card-maze floor with forest tiles, monster cards, a chest, and a potion loot popup over the HUD

Tap Dungeon is a single-player pixel-art isekai roguelike from Xiao5 Studios. You leave the Duchy of Lyle, tap through randomly generated card mazes, and mix five classes with skills, items, and sub-classes in turn-based fights against goblins, orcs, and the undead. Death is a reset, not an ending. Start with the beginner guide, then pick a role in the class hub and check the class tier list before you spend a full evening on a doomed build.

First dungeon checklist

Five practical steps from install to your first full-version run.

  1. 1

Install from Steam, not a random build

Tap Dungeon is a paid Windows release from Xiao5 Studios. Buy or open it on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4676750/Tap_Dungeon/), confirm the system requirements, and skip unofficial installers. The demo notes still matter if you played the two-floor preview.

  2. 2

Pick a class you can actually finish a floor with

The store lists five roles: Swordsman, Assassin, Mage, Alchemist, and Guardian. Use the class picker if you freeze at the select screen, then read the matching page in the class hub. The demo only trains Warrior and Assassin — the full roster needs the paid build.

  3. 3

    Learn the tap-and-plan combat loop

This is turn-based card-maze combat, not an idle clicker. Read how to play before you dump every skill into the first goblin pack. Mix skills, items, and sub-classes on purpose; the build guide explains why random mash fails on armor-heavy rooms.

  4. 4

Treat biomes as the real map

Forests, swamps, snow, desert, and ruined cities all change what a greedy path is worth. The dungeon guide covers events and floor pressure; the artifact notes stop you from selling the one relic that would have carried the next biome.

  5. 5

Hunt hidden bosses only after a stable kit

Hidden bosses are a selling point, not a first-hour errand. Clear a few honest floors, then use the hidden boss guide and the class tier list so a surprise elite does not end a promising run.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Launch-week answers for new adventurers from the Duchy of Lyle.

Is Tap Dungeon a Roblox game?

No. It is a single-player Steam Windows title from Xiao5 Studios, released on 27 August 2026. The links hub points at the store page, Discord, and the studio's social accounts.

Where should a new player start?

Install the full Steam build, then follow the beginner guide. If you only have the demo, read the demo comparison so you do not expect talents or the full class list.

Does Tap Dungeon have multiplayer?

No. Steam lists it as single-player. Plan every card, potion, and sub-class as if nobody is coming to revive you. Party talk in the story scenes is flavour, not multiplayer.

Which class is best in the first week?

There is no frozen meta yet. Use the class tier list as a launch-week reading of roles, then confirm with the starter builds and your own deaths.

Are there redeemable codes?

Tap Dungeon is a paid Steam roguelike, not a live-service mobile title. There is no codes page because Xiao5 has not published redeemable coupon strings. Spend time on artifacts and builds instead.

Is this wiki official?

No. It is a fan resource. Confirm patches and store copy on Steam and in the studio channels listed on the links page. Launch-week details can move after hotfixes.

Ready to save the kingdom?

Read the beginner guide, compare classes in the class picker, then plan a run with the build guide before you tap the next floor.
