Tap Dungeon Updates Hub
Launch-week facts first. Patch names when Xiao5 posts them.
This hub is the timeline, not a rumours blog. Tap Dungeon (Steam app 4676750) released on 27 August 2026 as a paid Windows roguelike from Xiao5 Studios. A free demo (app 4715120) was already public in June. Child pages split those moments: launch notes, demo notes, and the silent 28 August depot bump. If you need to play rather than date-check, go to getting started.
What shipped in public
- Single-player Steam Windows build.
- Five classes advertised; demo trains two.
- Turn-based card-maze crawler with artifacts, hidden bosses, talents in the full version, extra difficulties in the full version.
- 33 Steam achievements, Steam Cloud, family sharing once released.
- Introductory price $3.99 versus $4.99 list, advertised through 10 September 2026.
- Very Positive first review band on a small sample.
- Twelve interface languages. This wiki covers English, French, German, and Spanish.
- AI disclosure: some artwork used Stable Diffusion.
- Socials listed on Steam: Discord, X, Bilibili, QQ. Collected on links.
What we will not invent
We will not fabricate patch numbers, balance percentages, or a Trello we have not seen. When Xiao5 posts English notes, they get a dated section here or on the launch child page. Launch-week player comments about translation and a gold-counter bug are logged as reports, not as official patch text. See the review.
How updates change the rest of the wiki
- New class or talent names → class hub and builds.
- Difficulty labels → dungeons and the tier list.
- Relic names → artifacts.
- Hidden boss names → hidden bosses.
- Requirement changes → system requirements.
Until those posts exist, the how to play loop still holds: read tooltips, kill the floor lord, rebirth on purpose.
Demo versus launch, in one glance
If a friend says the game “has no talents and two classes,” they are describing the demo. If they say it launched this week with five classes and a discount, they are describing launch. Argue with the correct child page. This hub is just the index.
Studio channels remain the source of truth. We mirror them in plain language and then send you back into a floor.
How to read a dated note without panic
Launch week produces three kinds of text: store copy that already shipped, player reports that may be one person’s gold counter, and hotfix bullets Xiao5 has not written yet. This hub only promotes the first into fact. The second goes on the review as a report. The third waits. If your friend quotes a talent name from a screenshot, it can sit on builds once we can cite it; until then it is a rumour with pixels. The card maze, the five classes, and the demo limits are already public. Those are enough to play tonight. Date-checking is for people who already cleared a floor lord and want to know whether the intro price is still live.
Frequently Asked Questions
Launch-week answers for new adventurers from the Duchy of Lyle.
When did Tap Dungeon release?
27 August 2026 on Steam for Windows. Details on launch notes.
Is the demo still useful after launch?
Yes, as a two-floor, two-class taste. It is not the full roster or talent layer. See demo notes.
Where do hotfixes go?
On this hub and the launch page once Xiao5 publishes them. We will not invent patch IDs.
Does the game have a public roadmap?
Not one we can cite. Use links for Discord and Steam news rather than a fake Trello.
