Answer four questions. Then stop staring at the select screen.

Tap Dungeon Class Picker

This picker exists because the class hub is long and the select screen is short. It is not a tier list. It will not simulate talents the demo does not have. Work top to bottom. When you land on a class, open that page and go tap.

Question 1 — Demo or full?

I only have the demo. You may pick Swordsman / Warrior or Assassin. Everyone else is a paid-build fantasy. Skip to question 2 with only those two in mind.

I own the full Steam launch. All five are legal: Swordsman, Assassin, Mage, Alchemist, Guardian. Continue.

Question 2 — What should a tile do when you tap it?

  • Die because I hit it → Swordsman. Teacher class. Honest Steel on starter builds.
  • Die because I found a window → Assassin. Only if you already respect yellow tooltips.
  • Die from farther away → Mage. Full version. Range Lesson skeleton.
  • Die after a bottle or a trade → Alchemist. Full version. Potion Accountant skeleton.
  • Still be there after I mis-tap → Guardian. Full version. Wall Schedule skeleton.

If you answered two of these, you want a dual kit and you will have a bad lord fight. Pick one. Mixing comes later on builds.

Question 3 — How do you treat event text?

  • I read it → any class. Alchemist and Assassin reward you most.
  • I tap because the art is pretty → Swordsman or Guardian, then go read getting started before you hunt secrets.
  • I skip every event → you will miss potions and keys. Read artifacts after the first floor, not as a reason to freeze here.

Question 4 — What is tonight’s goal?

  • Learn the maze → Swordsman. How to play.
  • See if burst is fun → Assassin, demo-legal.
  • See a new biome without a slideshow of deaths → Guardian, full version. Dungeons.
  • Make the beggar and the loot popup the game → Alchemist.
  • Test the paid roster’s range fantasy → Mage.
  • Hunt a hidden boss → any class with leftover HP and a damage plan. Hidden bosses. Do not pick a class just because secrets exist.

Tie-breakers

Demo plus indecision: Swordsman. Full game plus indecision: Swordsman still, then Guardian if events are deleting you, then Assassin if they are not. Mage and Alchemist are for people who already know they like the sentence.

Ranks if you insist: class ranks. Flavour if you insist: the five class pages. Hardware if the picker is not the problem: system requirements. Parent: tools hub.

You now have a job sentence. Leave this page. The floor lord does not care that you almost picked Mage.

If you are still here, you are stalling. Stalling is how demo players never unlock Assassin and how paid-build players never see a ruined city. The picker cannot want the game for you. Swordsman if you freeze, Guardian if events freeze you, Assassin if nothing freezes you and you still want a window. That is the whole remaining algorithm. The getting started page will scold you more politely. This tool is allowed to be rude. If you reopen it after every death, you are using it as a stall. One pick per evening is enough.

After the pick, close the tab

The next honest click is getting started if you have not cleared a floor, or builds if you have. Class pages exist to keep the job sentence in your head when a relic argues. They are not a second picker. Hardware is system requirements. Dates are launch notes. If you are still comparing Mage and Alchemist after owning neither in the demo, you are shopping, which is allowed — buy the full build or pick Swordsman tonight. The picker has no sixth option called “wait.” The dungeon does not pause because the select screen is pretty.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Launch-week answers for new adventurers from the Duchy of Lyle.

What if I hate my pick after one death?

Rebirth is the editor. Try a narrower mix before you reroll. See builds.

Why doesn’t the picker include sub-classes?

Xiao5 has not posted a public English sub-class list we can cite. Pick a main job first.

Is the recommended class always S-tier?

No. This is a fit tool. Letters live on the tier list.

Can demo players pick Mage here?

You can want Mage. You cannot play Mage in the preview. Buy the launch build or pick Swordsman.
