Tap Dungeon How to Find and Beat Hidden Bosses
Optional hunts. Bring potions. Do not confuse them with the floor lord.
The Steam page repeats hidden bosses like a slogan: collect artifacts, beat hidden bosses, death is rebirth. That is a search magnet, so this page exists. It is not a fake HP table. Xiao5 has not published named hidden bosses with public health pools in the store copy. How to beat them is therefore a process, not a spoiler raid guide copied from another crawler.
Hidden versus the floor lord
Footage of a forest fork says you must defeat the current floor’s lord to open the next region. That fight is mandatory progress. Hidden bosses are the optional hunt the marketing sits next to artifacts and sub-classes. If you came from a “how to beat the boss” query, decide which one you mean:
- Gate boss / floor lord — kill it or you do not leave. Details in the dungeon guide.
- Hidden boss — extra risk, extra brag, extra chance to rebirth with nothing to show.
Mixing those two up is the fastest way to waste a good kit.
How to find them without a made-up map
Random events, random mazes, random biomes. A static “go to tile D4” walkthrough would be fiction. Finding a hidden fight in this genre usually means:
- Clear enough of the card grid that odd tiles are visible.
- Take events that smell like keys, seals, or invitations only when you can still fight afterwards. See artifacts.
- Do not skip every side tile, and do not tap every side tile. Hidden content lives in the leftover third of the floor after the lord is handled.
- Watch for biomes the store treats as set-pieces — abandoned ancient cities especially — because that is the mood the studio chose for “something is buried here.”
If a later community post names a reliable trigger, it will be cited as a player report on updates, not as a fact we invented tonight.
How to beat them with the kit you actually have
Hidden bosses in turn-based crawlers punish the same mistakes as armor-brick regulars:
- Arriving with no potions because a beggar and a gold pit already drank your HP.
- Bringing a mono-damage skill bar that cannot deal with a defense spike. Launch-week comments already described 999+ armor feels.
- Treating the fight like a floor trash pack and cycling skills 1–7 without a plan. Re-read how to play.
- Refusing to rebirth when the first hidden attempt is clearly a brick. Death is the currency the store advertised.
A serious attempt looks like this:
- Finish the floor lord first so a wipe still meant you could have progressed.
- Enter with a class that matches the job — Guardian if you need to live, Assassin if you need a window, Mage if you need range, Alchemist if potions are the plan, Swordsman if you simply hit hard. Confirm on the class hub.
- Spend artifacts on the fight, not on museum slots.
- Keep one heal. Hidden content that also deletes your last potion is a wipe with extra animation.
- If damage does not land after a fair test, leave or die. Do not burn twenty minutes proving a bug. Report it via Steam or Discord.
Demo players, stop hunting ghosts
The demo is two floors, difficulty one, no talent system, Warrior and Assassin only. If a hidden fight exists there, it is a taste. If it does not, that is also a taste. Do not write a Steam review that the full game “has no hidden bosses” because the preview did not serve one on floor two. The demo comparison exists to prevent that thread.
Full-version talents and extra difficulties will change the math. When those screens are public in English notes, this page will point at them. Until then, extra difficulty is just “the same hunt, less room for greedy events.”
How this page connects to the rest of the wiki
- Route: dungeons
- Kit: builds and starter builds
- Role: tier list as launch-week opinion
- Loot: artifacts
- First hour: getting started
How to complete a hidden hunt is the same sentence as how to complete a floor: read the costs, mix on purpose, and treat rebirth as a tool. The secret is not a password. The secret is leftover HP.
Frequently Asked Questions
Launch-week answers for new adventurers from the Duchy of Lyle.
What are the hidden boss names in Tap Dungeon?
Xiao5 has not published a public named list in the store copy used for this wiki. When official names appear in patch notes, they will go on updates.
Should I fight a hidden boss before the floor lord?
No. Clear the gate fight first so a wipe does not also strand you on the floor. See dungeons.
Does the demo include hidden bosses?
The demo is a two-floor, difficulty-one slice. Treat any secret there as a sample. Judge the full promise on the paid build.
My damage does nothing. Is the boss bugged?
Maybe, or you hit a huge armor value. Launch-week players reported both feelings. Rebuild with builds and report persistent zeros on Steam.
